Rutherford 2 - 0 Thronaby

Good game played in good spirits with both teams keeping the ball well but Rutherford took their chances well with Chris Morris and new signing Ray O'shin grabbing the goals to claim a well deserved win.

Hartlepool FC 2 - 2 Percy Main

Fair result, we played well first half and led 2-0. Debutant Manu and Midfielder Ellis nudging us ahead. Hartlepool bossed second half and clawed one back with 20 minutes to go and deservedly equalised in the 89th minute.

Good first workout for us, lots of positiives. Good luck to Wilf and Buddy, good set of lads at Hartlepool, some good young lads.

Next game Redcar Athletic at home next Saturday 2.30pm, all welcome.

Steady if not spectacular start to our friendlies, this game was more about introducing new faces and getting people comfortable so that worked a treat. Thornaby were better 1st half with us better 2nd.

Ray & Chris combined for both goals so that could be a good sign.

Next friendly is Wed 6.30 when we entertain Gateshead Leam Rangers. All welcome

Harton and westoe v Birtley St Jo's

3-2 win for Harton, who seem to have a very decent squad and alot of Northern League experience within their squad.

For us it was a great test against a new but experienced team, and its in games like this that you get to see what your squads like. Players out of position and few missing stands us in good stead for our new season.

Murton away on wed for us now.

Jimmy, its good to see Oshin and Morris back together great partnership, Morris will score more 2yard tap ins that Ray. :-)

Harraby Utd. 1 Wigton Harriers 4

A closer game than the scoreline suggests , but Wigton took their chances , we didn't , but can't be too critical as a few away on holiday at the moment . Wigton should do well in the County Lge. this year if they can keep that level of performance up . Some of our younger lads given their chance , but appeared to think they could cruise through it after playing really well on Thursday when we beat Celtic Nation 4 - 2 . Although I wasn't there , I was told it was a second string Celtic team [ apparently they all featured last year when they won promotion though  ], a lot of youngsters , perhaps they paid them in 'Sweeties' rather than cash    . Only having a laugh lads , don't get annoyed :D .

Red Row 1-4 Amble United. Good performance from us and we were in with a shout after pulling it back to 2-1 but Ambles third goal after 70 minutes pretty much put the game to bed, Amble then grabbed a fourth right at the death which made the scoreline seem a little bit too one sided given how the game went, very impressed with Amble as always who played some lovely stuff throughout.

Ashington Colliers 3 - 3 Prudhoe town. Good game to get pre season underway with 18 lads there, everyone got a good run with rolling off and on subs. Prudhoe went 2 up after 15mins with Ashington going in 3 - 2 up at the break. Second half saw lots of changes etc Prudhoe equalised with 10 to go.
