Well I cant say we deserved much on Saturday with Benfield being good value for their win. The main difference being, making better use of possession and quality on the ball. They play with a lot of pace and the two front lads looked dangerous.....had it not been for Jack in goal the scoreline could have been a lot worse......not to mention the missed penalty.....there was hope after we got back into the game just before half time but that faded second half after their goal shortly after the restart. I couldn't really say they dominated play as they didn't, but they did more with the ball when they had it. We pressed late on when reverting to two up front but it was too little too late......certainly looked more dangerous and might be worth a try in games to come (??)

Again, can't fault the lads for effort....we work so hard to break up their play and get the ball back but then tend to surrender it pretty easily, putting ourselves under pressure again......making the wrong decisions in key areas....going long when we should go short and trying to play in the wrong areas.....final ball could be much better too. Confidence is key, and at this level there is no let up with Shildon due to visit Saturday......but we will keep plugging away and with better application we will get something soon.

Cannot disagree with any of IDL post. Sums up our afternoon perfectly. We didn't keep the ball well and got caught time and time again on the break the defence being overwhelmed by the pace of the Benfield attacks. We were well beaten on the day in a game I thought we might get something out of. Could have looked a lot worse but Jack once again in stunning form and helped by a wonderful Beckham like penalty from Brayson which actually went higher than Jordan Frasers effort in the second division league cup final at the same ground a few years ago.
