Great example for Northern League Div 2 football ..... only spoilt by the best efforts of a referee who seemed to guess his way through the game ably unassisted by the 2 linesmen.

Very good team performance in all departments.

Keeper made some very good saves and kept everyone on their toes.

Back 3 managed to nullify North forcing him to drop deeper to get the ball. Johnson having some good runs with a sporadic end produce, Telfy getting some decent balls into the area.

Midfield very busy - stunning goal by Hargrave.

Front 2 of Smart & Hezzy look a good pairing

No idea why Dicka got sent off - be interesting to find out ......

Felt like we stopped playing a bit when we got ahead which allowed Hebburn to get back into it.

MOTM : HeppsD ..... stood out in all the recent games against Hebburn, right up for the challenge of North, great header and passing is back to the standard of the end of last season.

Good win which really should have been more comfortable but a ludicrous penalty decision by a ref who seems happy to encourage confrontation from players had us holding on, but credit to Hebburn they kept going and going, as did we with 10 men.
Ref was being assessed yesterday and Mike Amos was there so i hope they both agreed he was shocking for both sides and how you expect lads to accept crap decisions and downright wrong decisions without so much as a word is beyond me.

Regards the sending off, Kev let himself down and the team, no arguments, you swear at a ref you deserve a red, you argue with a ref which Kev loves to do you deserve a caution, clearly Kev was frustrated at 1) the award of a penalty for a block tackle and 2)flattened by Channon and then he was somehow penalised for a foul.

Smarty and Hessy linked up well first half, smarty tired understandably down to lack of minutes, thought Kegs was MOM

Kev has been hit with a club record ten pound fine... No right to appeal.

Congrats to all involved in a good win I couldn't get there but have heard from the Chairman that it was an excellent team effort and should have been a more comfortable scoreline. Roll on sat and another test against a top side in TN
