After ten minutes I was fearing the worst 2 down and Hebburn attacking with pace from every angle fortunately wasting a good lot of chances. We did well to hold it to two at the break. What a difference second half. The Chester of last season came forward. Dropping Jake Stafford back into midfield and putting young Hessy further up top worked a treat. Maz and Chris starting winning the midfield and we were looking like last seasons side. We pulled one back through a Hessy deflected strike then right on time Drapes hit a sweet strike into the top corner. We settled down for extra time but didn't clear our lines when we had the chance and North scored with almost the last kick. Disappointing result but great to see the spirit back in the second half that helped us through a lot of games last season. A word for young Adam who came on after Lees injury, never stopped running, trying things and was a constant worry to Hebburns defenders - a promising debut. Seems strange to say it but we lost but well done to the lads on the second half performance - hopefully that spirit is back to stay

Lenny the feeling after the game was that last seasons spirit is back.
We now need to take the 2nd 45 minutes into a very tough game Saturday and build on this.

The highs & lows of football in 1 game - just was I was looking forward to extra time, North scores with the last touch of the game !

Definitely a game of 2 halves - woeful 1st half, their number 7 terrorising Robbie down the left, defence getting bullied by North.

2nd half - HeppsD was back to his form from last season, wasn't going down without a fight, Dicka getting tackles in early & the introduction of Kegs gave us a real lift.

Midfield started to win their battles, Robbie got a hold of their winger ..... all Chester at times.

JakeS was superb again.

Impressed with the young lad that came on, stood up well and actually kept the ball ..... playing some sensible balls back into midfield, allowing us to keep posession.

MOTM : Hezzy again ! Has a knack of scoring scruffy goals, all action and didn't give in
