Dont worry hodko, 3 keepers are already on the books, just shows why pre season is must for both players and supporters to stop people worrying too much, as the other 2 played a part throughout pre season when crookes wasnt even at the club
The inigma that is Sam Renwick, has resigned for the club but work and other commitments are going to limit his availability starting this weekend.
How managers dont kill players i just dont know, they just aint made of the same stuff, like they used to be.

Thompson just AWOL signed with full intentions to play and just doesnt seem to fancy it.

Kennedy starts tomorrow and Hailliday involved tomorrow, and new job will allow him to be a regular in the not too distant future. Kennas was signed as cover for rooksey with rooksey not always available for mid weeks and kennas not avaialble most weekends, fortunately this one he is.

Strongy is concentrating on his driving lessons and test, as he doesnt drive and has to rely on others to take him to football, so when lular decided he wanted to leave, strongy was left in the lurch so to speak. A miss but thats just modern footballers. The days of getting buses to football and walking to make sure you play the game you love just doesnt happen any more, pampered prima donnas and this for me is where academies ruin young lads desire and drive, catering for their every need makes them soft in the head and for me thats a majority rather than a minority.

Great post skip ,and so very true , if only these keyboard people understood what is involved in managing a top club , maybe you could have a raffle each week and the winner gets to be your assistant for that week with special responsibilities of making sure everyone turns up ,everyone turns up on time ,everyone is dressed in the proper match day attire, everyone is fit, everyone is in the right frame of mind ,everyone has trained , everyone gives assurances that they are playing for the love of the game and not for financial gain, everyone is happy playing for the club , everyone is adamant that if another club comes in for them offering more money they will turn it down ,everyone will give up Sunday football , then maybe you could relax a little and let them answer all the questions and let you get on with your job . We wish eh lol

Footiefan boss - Hodko is just a fan that cares and is on good terms with Colin so to insinuate that he is trying to muscle in on team affairs is totally wrong. Colin and Dava manage the team at CLS they way they want to and I think they would be the first to agree that the committee etc do not try to tell them how to do their job. We all know how much hard work Colin and Dava put in and they know that we are grateful for the job they do and will help them in any way possible WHEN THEY WANT HELP. So basically we don't need a raffle for assisting the manager as he has a perfectly good assistant already and no-one at the club will tell the manager or his team how to do their jobs just as Colin wouldn't tell me as club secretary how to arrange games, confirm matches with clubs and officials, liaise with league officials and Durham FA, sign and register players etc etc.

To be honest lenny, having known footfan boss for many years, and having spoken to him recently he knows and shares in my frustrations in managing a football club at this level, and I think his tyrade was more general than aimed at hodko. But I don't think that most common fans or committee apreciate what does in fact go on behind the scenes in ensuring that 11 players turn up never mind 16 squad players. I am sure most managers could write a book soley on excuses why not to attend training never mind matches, ranging from the bizarre to the totally ridiculous. There is never a week that goes by in which someone doesn't let you down which totally changes all your plans. Possibly I have to lower my expectations / standards for me to last as long as footiefan has lasted but at least I know that I have someone to talk to that has been there and done it and shared my frustrations.

Fair enough Colin point taken. I just didn't want anyone to think that Hodko or indeed anyone at CLS were having a go at the management team - far from it. I will look forward to that book coming out should be a best seller in the northern league

Lenny , I apologise if my post seemed as if it was aimed in a vindictive way towards people at your club ,nothing could be further from the truth . Committee men ,supporters are all the lifeblood of any club wether it be few or many ,and I'm sure Hodko comes in to that category .
