Redcar Athletic 4 v 3 Bag of Hammers. Michael Woodhouse brace had Redcar Athletic 2 up after just 8 minutes. Last 25 minutes of the half was all Silksworth CW and were unlucky not to be awarded a penalty after our keeper seemed to flatten Adam Storey. The so called Bag of Hammers had the game level just 2 minutes into the 2nd half when Martin Metcalfe set up Adam Storey; then I believe it was Nicholas Smith who smashed in a 20 yard free kick. Jordan Rivis restored our 2 goal lead by netting twice in a 5 minute spell. Silksworth CW never gave up and as our defence stood still as Adam Storey scored at the 2nd attempt bang on 90 minutes. We managed to see out the 4 minutes of injury time. Got mauled a bit today by a bag of Hammers but we came through it. Just. Great game to watch.

By the way guys I'm not having a go at Silksworth CW. It's just that someone else on here referred to them as a bag of hammers. Anything but today. Bag of Hammers? Really? OR as I put it -

My friend took in the game and said the two good ginger lads for Silky must of left. I've no idea who they are but I know a few people were talking of a good season for Silkworth CW, doesn't look like the start they had hoped for...

Defence was nervy to begin with but once they finally settled albeit 2-0 down, then that's when the whole team got rolling and didn't stop until the final whistle. It was a fans game yesterday. Great to watch.

Would the 2 players be Stephen Moody and Paul Muir? Moody was their top scorer last season. Both are registered with Silksworth CW for this season but neither have played.
