The Priorymen will be hoping to return to winning ways in the league tomorrow as we host Bedlington Terriers with a 3pm kick off at the KGV Stadium. Despite having gained only 2 points in our last 3 games in the league, Town will be full of confidence after success in 2 cup ties in succession scoring 13 goals. Firstly in our 8-0 demolition of Armthorpe Welfare, and then on Wednesday where we beat Jarrow Roofing in the league cup 5-3 with an impressive performance from a changed Guisborough side.

Bedlington failed to score against The Priorymen in the 2 league matches last season in a 0-0 draw in Guisborough on the opening day of last season and a 3-0 Guisborough win in the reverse fixture. Goals that day from Peter Bulmer, an own goal and a first goal for GTFC for young Connor Smith.

The most recent match between the 2 sides was the league cup fixture towards the end of last season, again at Bedlington, where we proved too strong once more.
Tom Mitchinson made his debut for the club having signed the previous week but was soon substituted due to injury. Even though the hosts were awarded an early penalty, this was missed and proved fatal to The Terriers League Cup campaign. The first half was dominated by Nathan Steel and Nathan Mulligan both scoring to give Guisborough a 2 goal lead. This would not last the half as the hosts were awarded another penalty, this time Stephen Young scoring and Leon Carling sent off.
Nathan Mulligan added to his earlier tally in the second half before James "Munch" Risbrough completed the scoring to secure Chris Hardy's 190th win as Town Manager

No team news as yet ahead of tomorrows match

Tomorrows mascots will be from our Junior teams and half time penalties will also be from our Young Priorymen.
Also look out for a special guest before the match

Come on the Town

Curtis Round opened the scoring in the third minute with a long shot in front of 419 people who were attending Town's celebration of youth with a focus on the Junior teams of Guisborough Town.

A defensive error let Marc Walton in for second bottom Bedlington Terriers on 19 minutes after the woodwork had denied teh Priorymen several times.

Danny Earl scored his first on 26 minutes and Steven Snaith on 45 minutes made sure the home side led 3-1 at the interval.

The match had kicked off 15 minutes late due to an accident on the A19 and a minutes silence for the victims of the Paris attrocities last night.

Danny Earl scored his second and substitute Connor Smith made it 5-1 with 5 minutes left but the fifth placed club were dismayed to concede a late penalty which Marc Walton converted and the game ended 5-2 to Town.
