What a sorry state the ground is in now. Cops don't seem to be bothered nowadays, but if you're 1 mph over the speed limit, they're up you like a rat up a drain pipe, and no I don't drive.

Awful to see a once great facility reduced to a wreck.

Thanks for sharing the link off my blog. I've been taking a few trips around former Northern League grounds recently. Synners probably the most depressing, but there were more encouraging signs in the Peterlee area. Murton, Shotton and Peterlee are all in use still, albeit for Sunday football or rugby, and people are taking care of them. There's more at https://groundhoppers.blog/2018/11/22/e ... lack-hole/

The reason the facility is in the state it is lies much deeper than the Police, pretty sure this would go unreported mainly as there would be no victim on site to report and the owner isnt in the area to give's two f**ks about the current state or use of the land.

There are loads of facilities in the area which dont get targeted by youths and vandals, simply for the reason they are in use - we were talking at training last night that Synthonia and their ground were the envy of lads on Teesside, its a shame to see it in this state.

Noeldinho - speed limits are there for a very good reason. Zero tolerance is the correct policy. Speed kills.

Totally missing his point with that bit of sarcasm . I have reported numerous acts of vandalism at our ground which is used daily and there is nothing ever done. 9 times out of 10 the police give you a crime number and tell you to claim of your insurance. We have had to pay for alarms CCTV repair locks cut off with bole croppers . Don't tell me you haven't seen the local police sat in a 24 hour service station drinking free cups of tea. They dont give a manure.

And the sad thing is if someone from your club did a stakeout and caught the little shits in the act and gave them a clip round the ear they wold not come back but you would be the ones in big trouble.

Absolutely criminal that this is allowed to happen, it’s an age old story though.
What are the police doing and who are the owners?

Very sad situation..
Synners FC have never owned the ground. Of course it was ICI who were the owners for a very long time, that was followed by a company called Lakes and Fells then on to a pretty well run and stable 20 years under Stuart Coleby. It was sold on to Hillerby Sports and Leisure, but some mystery surrounds the actual owner.

A quick check on Companies House shows that Hillerby Sports and Leisure was David Hillerby plus three other directors. The three have resigned it appears solely leaving the aforesaid Mr Hillerby in control. The company was however dissolved on October 30th of this year.

Mmmmmmmm........
