BILLINGHAM TOWN v HEATON STANNINGTON PREVIEW

Undoubtedly, the match of the day in division two as the league leaders face the leagues in form team. Heaton Stannington come into the game on a seven game winning streak while Town remain unbeaten in the league. Can Billingham come through another test with the spoils? It could be a tactical affair and an intriguing encounter!

FOCUS ON THE STAN:
Previously to the Stan’s burgeoning run of good form, the North Tynesiders had lost five games in a row. The club are infamously known for their slow starts followed by a late rattle in the closing months of the season but they have taken that formula to the extreme for the current campaign. Their strengths lie within the amount of firepower at their disposal. Fans will remember Joe Kerridge from last season and Dan Robertson recently signed from Washington. Winger Lewis Burns is another live-wire with six goals to his name. Jack Cooper arrived from North Shields as did Connor Campbell. Thibault Charmey signed from Whitley Bay on Friday and will go straight into the squad. Charmey is a former Paris St Germain Academy player.

ONE TO WATCH: CONNOR CAMPBELL
The striker signed in mid-September from North Shields and he has played a major part in turning around the clubs fortunes. Already scored eleven goals in nine games and is part of a powerful attack.

RECENT RESULTS:
Heaton Stannington 4-3 Whitley Bay (Campbell 2, Burns, Robertson) - NSC
Heaton Stannington 3-1 Redcar (Wear, Campbell, Kerridge)
Heaton Stannington 5-0 Northallerton (Sayer, Burns, Campbell, Robertson, Fox)
Esh Winning 0-2 Heaton Stannington (Burns, Hoggins)
Ryton 1-5 Heaton Stannington (Campbell 2, Kerridge, Martin, Middleton)
Heaton Stannington 4-1 Bedlington (Burns 3, Campbell)
Chester Le Street 0-1 Heaton Stannington (Campbell)
Jarrow 1-2 Heaton Stannington (Campbell 2)

Last Season: Billingham Town 1 Heaton Stannington 0

TALKING TOWN:
Jamie Davis misses this game with a one match suspension while Mark Dixon begins his three match ban and will also sit out next weeks League Cup game at Guisborough Town followed by the league encounter at Easington Colliery. Goalkeeper Michael Duff is also suspended for his second game which meant sixteen year old Nick Cranston made his debut in midweek. Oliver Simpson will have another fitness test on Saturday but Jack Patton will definitely miss out due to injury. York City winger Harry Thompson also figured at Gateshead after signing on a work experience contract.

Yep my error. I went off Heaton stans site and saw his last club mentioned was Whitley bay. My knowledge within division one isn't as strong as division two players.

Enjoyed the match today and a draw was a fair result, thought Heaton shaded the first half and Billingham were better team in the 2nd half, Hutchinson is a great player for Billingham and thought the right back was outstanding as well, think he is called Moore. Heaton had some good players and am sure they will be challenging at the end of the season.
