I am one spectator who believes football should be played on real grass. Anyone who was at Hebburn last Saturday would see a pitch well looked after which allowed both teams to play excellent football on the ground. Congratulations to the Hebburn groundstaff who have shown what can be achieved

Well I am jumping in to say I agree with England and the others that grass is the correct surface for our sport, of course it is up to clubs to ensure a decent playing surface * but as has been said a major part of the tactics and intelligence in the game is adjusting one's style to the pitch and that also relates to size (which is not yet standardized).

* playing surface should be a major part of ground grading, far more important than 6 million covered seats at step 7.......

I hope you have asked Neil if you are allowed to jump in to this part of the conversation, if not they will tell you when you are allowed to contribute!

Typical smart bottom reply from you. Sad little troll.

Neil M - as a moderator learn when to just leave it. You have encouraged this thread to escalate into a slanging match between yourself and another poster. Have a little self control

I've been playing adult football for over 20 years and many spent in the northern league and much prefer the 3G and 4G pitches to grass, just wish I could have played on these pitches 20 years ago instead of the end of my playing days. For me football is about passing and keeping the ball, could watch arsenal play all day as that is proper football. They even have an end product now. Very hard to play on bad grass pitches and football goes out of the window.
