TOW LAW TOWN v BILLINGHAM TOWN PREVIEW

Less than forty eight hours after the Ernest Memorial Cup tie at Easington, Town and their supporters travel together up to Tow Law Town. On paper, Billingham will go into the game as clear favourites but the Lawyers have made several astute signings in recent weeks and a tough encounter is expected.

FOCUS ON THE LAW:
The Lawyers have gone nine games without a win and the poor run of results coincides with the departure of striker Dean Thexton to Willington. Manager Steve Murray has since signed eight players during September in an attempt to steer them away from the bottom of the table. From the existing squad, captain Dan Kirkup is a big, strong, old fashioned centre half and could be partnered by former Bishop Auckland defender Matty Lovegreen. Full backs Adam Knowles and *Scott Oldfield like to get forward in partnership with wingers Dale Milburn and Damon Reakes. Of the new signings, left back Ricky Fenwick came from Bishop Auckland while 19 year old right back Nathan Convery arrived from Consett. Former Whickham midfielder Matthew Fisher should be available after a three match suspension. Alex Curran has replaced Tom Orton in goal with Orton subsequently moving on to Esh Winning.

*Oldfield has signed for Willington this Friday afternoon.

ONE TO WATCH: SCOTT LOWERY
Languid roaming central midfielder who signed for Tow Law during the summer from Bedlington Terriers. Scored for Bedlington against Town in a 2-2 draw at Bedford Terrace back in December 2017.

RECENT RESULTS:
West Allotment Celtic 2-0 Tow Law
Tow Law 2-3 Chester Le Street (Kirkup, Milburn)
Tow Law 1-1 *Bishop Auckland (Lowery) - DCC
Nelson 5-2 Tow Law (Martin, Oldfied) - FA Vase
Tow Law 2-2 Esh Winning (Milburn)
Billingham Synthonia 0-0 Tow Law
Tow Law 1-1 Easington (Nicholson)
Bedlington 4-3 Tow Law (Goundry, Milburn, Kirkup)
* Bishop Auckland won on penalty kicks

Last Season: Tow Law Town 2 Billingham Town 1

TALKING TOWN:
Matty Robinson begins his three game suspension for the red card he received against Durham City. Craig Hutchinson is away so Ash Lavan could be set for a start upfront. Dan Flounders is also away but both Mark Dixon and Lee Moore returned to action on Thursday night. Luke Hogan and Arthur Connelly will be looking to start on either wing in Elliot Beddow’s & Matty Robinson’s absence. On Thursday night, Ash Lavan became the 17th player to have scored this season! Phenomenal!
