BILLINGHAM TOWN V WEST ALLOTMENT CELTIC PREVIEW

Matchday eight and Town welcome West Allotment Celtic to Bedford Terrace for what could be Billingham’s toughest test of the season so far. Northallerton were stubborn opposition in our last League game but West will go with a more attacking line up. The fixture has the potential to be a goal fest but Town go into the game unbeaten in fourteen matches including pre-season friendlies.

FOCUS ON CELTIC:
West have proven to be a surprise package of the new season, the highlight being a superb 3-0 defeat of North East Counties Premier side Yorkshire Amateur in the FA Vase. They followed that with a valiant effort at Bishop Auckland where the two blues required extra time to see off West. Their main strengths are in attack where between them, Michael Baxter and Matty Hayton have scored 14 goals. Recent signing Regan Patterson has also settled into the side after his move from Whitley Bay and midfielder Dean Walker is also another goal threat. Gilberto Chapim provides plenty of experience in midfield and at the back, Jack Errington is a former Burnley championship league title winner!

ONE TO WATCH: MICHAEL BAXTER
Celtic’s top scorer with nine goals to his name already. First season at the club after signing from Northern Alliance side Delaval FC where he scored over 50 goals for them in all competitions during their last campaign. Part of a three thronged attack alongside Matty Hayton and Regan Paterson.

RECENT RESULTS:
Bishop Auckland 3-1 West Allotment (Walker) FA Vase
West Allotment 0-2 Chester Le Street
Ryton 0-3 West Allotment (Baxter 2, Hayton)
West Allotment 3-0 Yorkshire Amateur (Baxter 2, Hayton) FA Vase
Northallerton 3-0 West Allotment
West Allotment 3-1 Washington (Baxter 2, Walker)
West Allotment 2-2 Esh Winning (Baxter 2, Hayton)
Bedlington 3-1 West Allotment (Hayton)

Last Season: Billingham Town 3-0 West Allotment Celtic

TALKING TOWN:
Although back from his holidays, Reece Kenney will be out of action for two weeks with an ankle injury. Elliott Beddow edges closer to a full return after being introduced late on against Birtley while Luke Hogan and Lee Moore will be added to the squad. Kyle Morris got off to a dream start last week with a debut goal but faces stiff competition for a place in midfield. Goalkeeper Oliver Simpson is away with family so Jack Patton will be handed a start. Attacking full-back Dom Joynes has decided to sign for Billingham Synthonia.
