Dale Burrell has left Dunston and joined neighbours Whickham. Gutted the lad has left, for six seasons he has been consistently one of Dunston’s stand out players.
Whickham have landed themselves a quality player. An excellent leader on the pitch, capable of bossing the middle of the park, scores goals and likes a tackle.
Although, as I say I’m gutted, I can understand the reasons why he’s joined Whickham.
I’d like to thank him for his services to Dunston and wish him all the best at The Glebe.

What are the reasons he has joined Whickham? Wage increase? Bigger club? Fan base?

To my knowledge, Whickham made him a very good offer.
I wouldn’t say Whickham are a bigger club than Dunston and fan base wise probably get less in than Dunston.
What I would say is that Whickham have captured one of the best centre midfielders in the Northern League and that wor lass had to console my bairn yesterday when she broke the news to him. He was one of the bairns favourite players ever since Dale gave him all of his Panini swaps at The Northern League Cup semi final.

Just for the record, I’m sure the bairn will get over it.

It’s only taken 4 posts for somebody to mention Bishop Auckland. I have no idea as to what this has to do with Dale Burrell’s transfer to Whickham mind.

I was a little surprised at this, as I would certainly look at Dunston as a bigger club that Whickham. And that's no disrespect to Whickham who are a very hospitable club and are on the up.

I think he has quite a few pals at Whickham so that might have made the difference, but sometimes, a change of scenery does you good after being at a club for so long.

Good luck Dale

It certainly comes across as an odd response in my opinion.
