Wow. Very unprofessional from the university. Seems the team have only found out via social media as well.

Washington and Darlo RA will be furious as surely both may have been reprieved from relegation?

It's the relegated club that are always repreived, but either way I imagine it's too late now anyway as all leagues will have had their AGM's.

With Roofing resigning, that would mean Washington would go back up.

That's what I'm saying I don't think they will, I'd guess that the first division will just run with 19 teams. It's well after all the step 5 and 6 league AGM's and most teams are well into preparations for the new season. I'm guessing that the FA will view it as a resignation of a team during the 2018-19 season. I may be wrong though!

Oxford City Nomads have resigned from the Hellenic League. Plus FC Romania late promotion from the Essex Senior League. Which means that both leagues will run with 19 clubs only. The FA won’t change the leagues after they’ve released the constitutions & the AGM’s have been sorted. The EBAC NL will run with 19 clubs only!
Just as a side issue, the standardised rules state that the bottom 2 of each step 5 league will be relegated(this is irrespective of the amount of clubs). Replaced by the step 6 champions & the best runners up on a ppg basis. At the moment there will be 11 of the 19 runners up promoted. This will increase with every resignation, demotion or clubs folding etc.
So the bottom 2 in the NL1 will be relegated.

Northumbria Uni have taken a giant crap on their players, telling them as recent as two days ago everything was fine. Lots of the players came to that University to play a decent level of football and now they have been left high and dry without a team and without scholarships. As well as that, they've messed the NL about, resigning after the fixtures were published. So now at least 20 players looking for teams, some of who were offered places elsewhere but stayed at the Uni, who I am very sure knew they were going to pull funding, there's no way they've only just found out about funding, not a chance. Not to mention the teams that have been relegated from the NL as well. Total and utter shambles with zero accountability.

It's my understanding that Sunderland AFC Ladies were to enter into an agreement with Northumbria Uni where they would have a number of players from outside the region playing for them whilst receiving scholarships there.

I wonder if that's now up the swannee too then or have the men been dumped in favour of SAFC Ladies ??

Interesting !!

Im baffled as to how the funding can be cut for some students that pay £9000+ to go there. Absolutely bizarre.

What do you find baffling about it?
