If England lose against Belgium on Thursday evening but then win their next game in the1st knockout stage it could be the start of a domino effect of friendly games being cancelled. The quarter final they will then play in will take place on Saturday 7th July at 3pm. I can't see many clubs getting a team to play a friendly if that happens and I include my own team in that calculation. That's not the end of it of course as if England were to win that quarter final they would then be playing a semi final on Wednesday 11th July at 7th. Bye bye more if not all Friendlies that night. If England go on to win the semi final end of issues for non league Friendlies. If England were to lose the semi final then they play in the 3rd/4th place play off on Saturday 14th July at 3pm. Oh dear.
But we're going to get a result against Belgium on Thursday evening so none of the above can happen. AREN'T WE??!

Would clubs not just change kick of times to 12:00 instead? Would make sense and could even be a potential money spinner for clubs showing the England game straight after in their clubhouse.

Makes sense Neil and i'm sure both sets of lads would agree to all.

Redcar Athletic are away on 7th July against Stockton West End who do not have a clubhouse as they play at a school facility. A 12pm kick off will not improve matters as it would mean the players would struggle to get into anywhere on their return to Redcar. They will be plenty of other teams in similar positions. There's also the other issue if the players want to watch the games with their friends rather than their teammates. But not to worry yet as the situation has yet to arise and England only need a draw against Belgium to put an end straight away to the possibility of it all occurring.

A draw AND to ensure they don't get more cards than their opponents.

as a fan I would be very upset if players put a game on T V before playing pre season friendly games.

As a fan, I'd be disappointed if my club scheduled a game at the same time as a competitive England game.

It looks like we need to cancel the World Cup here.

We are kicking off at 1-00 if that happens and have looked into hiring a marquee with 2 x 50’ screens as it’s our annual fun and charity day . Having the screens will help keep people in the ground

We're playing on the Friday evening, so I'm hoping that they actually do come 2nd in the group before winning the next game, as if they win the group, the quarter final is on Friday 6th! haha

Every two years, excluding qualifiers. Sounds like Birtley are being smart with a big screen.

Won’t the players rather watch England, than play a friendly in scorching weather & on rock hard surfaces? Aren’t lots of lads on there holidays, this time of the year anyway?

Players are 100% wanting to play the game. Finish at 2.45 straight into the shower, into the marquee watch the game, What more could you want for a Saturday?
