I know we've been on this topic before, but the EFL went ahead with their vote and decided NOT to make programmes compulsory...

As I said before, I think it's a shame. I don't think the NL will follow, not yet anyway.

And speaking of which.... any idea of when the fixtures will be out so I can start to prepare myself?

The appeal by Newcastle University is heard on Thursday.

It always used to be common for clubs only to print a few programmes that they knew would sell ( to fulfill the Leagues obligation ) rather have loads left over .

That may still be the case?

Like it or not the world is now in a digital age where more and more people get their news on a mobile phone. Programmes are an expense that isn't really needed especially if a club has a large digital outreach such as social media for example.
It's easier and cheaper to reach people and businesses by social media for example than it is sending them paper.

I try to attend as many grounds as I can in the Northern League each season and the big thing for me in obtaining a programme is to find out who is playing and where they have played in their career etc. (bio) It’s easy now to take a photo of the team sheets on the day, would it be a good idea on the new Northern League website to have bios of each player on the registration page, that way you could sort on a team and print off the information in advance?,each teams programme editor must have this information so it should not be an impossible task. League tables and fixtures can be found on line so other than the advertisements in most programmes this may render them obsolete?
