Is it possible Marske will be promoted if they win and Benfield drop points?

Bishops still need at least one more win to ensure safety and this is the final league match of the season at Heritage Park.

For a 0-0 it was a cracking game Marske are a very good side But Bish would not lie down and fought to the end and even hit the post.
Rode our luck a bit and the Ref did all he could to help Maske but the lads stood firm and left it all on the pitch.
Massive point and a massive well done to the team.

It was always going to need a resilient, strong, determined, well organised Bishops tonight and so it proved. Like Two Bluey says Marske are an excellent side. But for the width of the post and an inch either side of Stu Thompson it could of been 3pts! Crowd was 292 tonight....expected more from Marske considering they could of won promotion tonight.

I did a head count when there was an injury and got to 170. Why do Bishops insist on inflating the crowd - there was 200 there max including around 50 from Marske which is decent given the amount of games we've had to play recently.

I take it you didnt count those who stayed in bar and watched? :D

I personally thought there was about 250ish so not too far off!

Ps...the 50 Marske fans must of sneaked in quiteky

Only about 15 Marske fans 18 if you count the officials, which is very poor for a promotion chasing team.

There's a few Clubs do this in Div 1. I suspect it makes them look "bigger" . With less then 200 in a head count is really accurate and usually within 15%. If you get 3 people independently to count they nearly always get a similar figure.

Is it not because you have to include season ticket holders who do not attend?

Bishops can have their inflated crowd numbers, we are going up. Fighting against the tide these last few weeks of the season too with multiple games a week I'd have expected to lose a few but we keep on marching on to the title.

Does your ground require much upgrading to maintain Evostick status. Last time I was there it seemed miles of step 4, but that was about 6 years ago ?

You'll love your new adventure, Met some wonderfull people on our travels in the Evo Stick North this season, All very knowledgeable when it comes to football, Who knows we could play eachother in one of the cups next season.

So once again congratulations to Morpeth and Marske on winning promotion.

Hopefully we can blaze a trail and establish ourselves in the step above. When we won our first league title I could never have imagined winning that in my lifetime and to be so close to winning another one is surreal. I'm hoping ourselves and Morpeth and open a few people's eyes in the evostick and I'd be elated if we could both follow Spennymoor and Darlo and get northeastern football back to the heights it reached before.

Congratulations to both Morpeth Town and Marske United on achieving promotion.

Stockton might disagree with their semi-final Vase victory, but IMO Marske are probably the best step 5 team in England right now. If they keep that team they'll do well on the NPLN division. Good luck to both clubs.

The NPL is splitting East/West next season. So they’ll be in the NPL1E!
