Both teams in Billingham have traditionally been strong teams challenging for cups and league trophies, but they both seem to be in free fall , Synners without a ground of their own and their long serving manager walking out, Town if I read correctly have no committee at the moment and today the news they have handed in their liquor license, sold all of their stock and even the till out of the bar. It all seems very quiet on here and twitter about it all ? Maybe is the time for both clubs to bury any differences and have talks about merging ( like the Ossetts ) A Billingham United could be a force to reckon with, thoughts anyone ?

I think you are right, between them they could run a decent NL club, seems like whatever the issues are would be minimised with a joint venture

If what your saying about billingham town is true I would say they are on there way out. Another Norton and Stockton. Sad to see but without a committee and pretty much no bar to run there's not much hope.

Perfect time for a United Billingham team. Some will like it and some won’t but it will guarantee NL football continues in the area.

I'm finding it difficult to discuss about Billingham Town and Billingham Synthonia becoming 1 club so how you would get both their set of fans to do so is beyond me. On Teesside and personally as a Redcar lad, I have no doubt everyone in this county has a great respect for both these Billingham clubs and hope they will continue, as they done so for years to come. Here's hoping to a better future for both clubs.

Slightly mischievous this post!! Town are set to name a strong new committee tomorrow and although the fans have endured behind the scenes, things look brighter than first thought!!

Was at Billingham last week , pitch is fantastic, and they had a fairly decent vocal support. Surely makes sense to merge both teams for the good of football in Billingham. I noticed the TV sets had gone, there was no hot food , and they were selling Coors at £2 a pint which doesn’t make business sense , it will nearly cost that to buy in. Always had a soft spot for Billy Town , great set up so I hope everything goes well

Go back ten years and I would havebeen dead against a merger, but that was more heart ruling head. Now myself and I know quite a few others at Town are a lot more receptive to the idea. Whether people at the Synners feel the same I have no idea.

There are a few issues at Town at the moment caused by the previous regime but the true fans are now working hard to get things back on track.

The beer being sold at £2 a pint was due to the barrel coming towards its best before date and so the club were trying to flog it.

That’s not the only thing it says
