We would like to announce that after 3 years in management Conrad Hillerby has stepped down from his role. The club as a whole as well as the management has found it extremely difficult to compete under increasingly difficult financial conditions. Today we have taken measures to restructure the football club moving into the end of the season. May we take the opportunity to offer anyone the chance to come forward and become part of the football club to move the club forward in our quest to provide a more stable future and new home for the football club. If anyone does want to do this please contact us via the club website/email synthoniafc@gmail.com
Jamie Tunstall will immediately take over the managing of the team along with two other coaches to be confirmed in the coming days. In a time that is most difficult for the football club, we ask any fans, past players etc to try and back us to attend games so we can continue to run as a club going into the end of the season. We hopefully look forward to seeing people on Saturday.

Nobody likes to see clubs suffer and it seemed clear that a lot these issues started at the back end of last season when moving grounds.
They certainly seemed to have no financial difficulties last year though!

Big money problems after Christmas period last season when promised funds did not appear, hence players left and those that stayed did so on much reduced wages. That was start of events that led to nearly all last years players leaving and off field problems between the ground owner and club leading up to the chairman leading the relocation to Norton which seems to have backfired badly.

Surely now is the time for both Clubs to merge . Billingham has a population similar to Blyth and much bigger than Spennymoor. Surely for non-league football in Billingham to thrive it makes sense. A Town that size should be able to support a team up the pyramid.

Rivalry between the two has always been intense from what I can remember.
Certainly couldn't see supporters backing the idea, and cant see the folk at Town being to keen, they've done some good work over the last few year, on and off the field. Time will tell of course, I could be totally wrong. Wont be the first time

If I remember correctly about ten years ago meetings occured between the clubs with the possibility of a merged team playing on Central avenue but nothing was agreed. Since then when football loving people owned the ground all has changed, who does own Central Avenue now?
Anyway it seems the first priority of Synthonia is to right the ship and get to end of this season. Maybe with the manager departing some people who did not see eye to eye with him will reconsider their involvement with the club.

Merger would be a last resort. Although Town have been consistent on the pitch during the last three seasons, off the pitch the future is far from certain. Difficult time for both clubs.

I see today Ossett Albion and Town are to merge. Both more successful than the Billingham Clubs , and most people from Ossett think this is great news for football in the Town (according to posts I've read)
