When are referees going to realise that not one has ever been sued for a player obtaining an injury on the pitch . Our match at Northallerton tonight was perfectly playable, however due to a small amount of ice was called off . The pitch took a stud and was soft to walk on .

The decision tonight to call off the game was a debatable one ,however because of the state of the goalmouths ,BOTH goalkeepers were unhappy about playing , in the end the decision was right , pity the cost to Northallerton was £103 for expenses ,

Until it happens, why would a referee take that risk??

I don’t imagine that referees postpone matches due to the risk of law suits, they do it to protect the players from injury. They are thinking of the players, not themselves.

And I’m still trying to get my head around “perfectly playable” when there were a couple of areas of ice. Generally playable, largely playable, perhaps ... but perfectly ?
