I’m disappointed like, it’ll have been my first bust to Thornaby since all the work has been done.

Having said that the decision by the ref at 2.45 is scandalous. Paying punters would have been in the ground already, food on, etc etc. It’s a shame!

Shildon 1-1 Dunston
Can’t see the teams coming out for second half.
Treacherous underfoot.

Because it’s not your decision and you as a committee aren’t responsible for the well-being of players, whereas the referee is and is liable aswell. Normal protocol should have been followed....an hour and a half round trip wasted. It’s a terrible decision not to get it inspected as it would have been frozen at 12pm and it could have saved us the journey.

If you use that logic you would need every pitch to be inspected EVERY week before EVERY game. The committee at the ground at the time do not believe the pitch to have been frozen and are of the opinion that the pitch was playable when the ref called it off when he did, as far as I can deduce (can't say for certain I wasn't there).

It’s common sense when dealing with frozen pitches (and I can assure you the far side opposite the stand was frozen solid) to get an official down to inspect instead of costing both clubs a hell of a lot of money. Poor descision all round as it would have been frozen at 12pm

It has always bewildered me why a pitch can be playable when it is baked rock hard in August but not playable in the winter months. I can understand a postponement if a frozen pitch is rutted.

Because ice is slippy and you can’t wear rubber studs on ice but you can on a baked dry pitch as they grip well and are designed to do so.

Can only speak for South Tyneside but I have not seen any ice today only rock hard frozen ground, the wind prevented ice and frost forming so I refer you back to my statement.

I take it you’ve never played using studs or mouldiest on frozen ground?!? It’s dangerous pal.

Is it not just the top two going up this year? Looks to have been decided already if it is but I might be wrong about top 2. Sure Windy is sick of explaining this by now

Why the Cheap shot at Shildon Local Lad?

The Top 2 will go up according to Windy the Statto man  and if that's not already Morpeth and Marske id be surprised.

Shildon have re-organised things this year and are doing pretty well on top of making ground improvements, not forgetting playing Jekyl and Hide Dunston is never easy especially on what I'm led to believe was a difficult surface and UTS seem to have went from Shocking midweek to excellent yesterday.

I don't believe Consett will make up the Gap either but you never know in this division. Not convinced either the current Top 2 want Promotion either, so I guess you never know what might happen.
