2.18 seems to cover this nicely

Does rule 2.18 not cover it?

Thanks Jigsaw, well spotted! (Must admit I did see this rule but misread it as 'of finances' instead of 'or finances' )

Rule 2.18

Quote:
2.18 If during the course of a season the Board decide that the organisation and management or finances of a particular Club
fall below the standards appropriate to membership of the Competition, the Competition Secretary shall be instructed to warn
the Club at once that it may be excluded from membership of the Competition at the end of that playing season. Such a Club
shall have the right to appeal to The FA within 14 days of the date of notification of the Board‟s decision.

Very possibly! Can it be argued that the Charter Standard is part of the organisation and management of a club?

If it is a pre-requisite to have something in place to be part of a bigger organisation then you have to question the organisational management if they have ample opportunity to put said process in place but do not. You could almost use the same rule for clubs having a groundshare after groundshare after groundshare without putting any plans forward to cement their future and be content to live off the goodwill of others. Whatever happened to those plans re. Durham that were mentioned

Surely it's not a prerequisite if it's not in the league rules?

I'm assuming Durham pay rent (as do many NL clubs) to their landlords rather than living off 'good will'.

It may be nitpicking, but that rule doesn't mention the FA Charter Standard. And also the reason for the delay in confirming compliance may not even be financial.

From the FA website:

"With this in mind, FA Charter Standard accreditation is awarded to clubs and leagues rigorously adjudged to be well-run and sustainable – and which prioritise child protection, quality coaching and implementation of the Respect programme."

That is in line with the league rule and therefore it seems as good a guidepost as any to satisfy the league rules. If the league determine that by not having charter standard status, you're not satisfying the league rule, then it appears to me their more than within the rights to remove you from the league.

If the F.A.L.C. decides to promote the best 3rd place side from step 5 using the ppg basis. Then only 3 teams can actually now achieve this. They are Highworth Town(Hellenic League), who have finished all there games. Wantage Town from the same league & they have 2 fairly easy games & can overtake Highworth. Pickering Town from the NCEL, they have 6 games to play & need to win them all to pip both the Hellenic teams. On a personal basis, I’d like to see Pickering promoted! Because it’ll mean the NPL1E, will overall move slightly northwards & help reduce the travelling for the ex-NL sides. I think Wantage will get the spot though & it’ll be then down to the League Committee to decide. On which criteria will determine who gets the lucky golden ticket!

Assuming Morpeth don't lose their remaining 4 games, Benfield win their remaining 10, overcoming a 35 goal difference!

Well that didn’t happen & Morpeth are up. I’m sure they are buzzing at the thought of travelling down to Wisbech next season

After AFC Mansfield’s draw at the weekend. Pickering can still claim 2nd spot, if both them & AFC Mansfield win all there remaining games. But it now means that Wantage can’t be caught, if they win there 2 remaining games.

Marske will be promoted on Wednesday, if they win & Newcastle Benfield drop any points.

Good news for the northeastern clubs. Pickering Town have been promoted from the NCEL Prem & will join Marske, Morpeth & Pontefract in the NPL1E next season
