On Saturday we travel the short distance to face Hebburn Town having won the first game at Jarrow with an last minute goal

We have young defender Sam Attewell returning to the squad, having missed last week's game.

Like all Northern League games Saturday's match will be a really tough one. We have prepared for this game as we do for all of our games and had a really good solid training session on Wednesday under the lights at Perth Green where we had a full squad in attendance. Our facilities have allowed us to be able to prepare well for this game.

Hebburn represent a really tough challenge for us, they sit second top of the league and we know that is not easy to do having played 16 games. Full credit to Scott, his management team and players for their season so far. They have a really good squad of players and we know they pose many threats for us. As an added interest we have a number of players in our squad who have had spells at Hebburn. On a personal note I know all the good people involved at Hebburn and I look forward to going their with Jarrow this weekend. Chris, our coaches, our committee and all of our players are also really looking forward to the game.

What we do know is that we will need to be at our best for this game playing against a team in really good form. Hopefully there is a large crowd there and we play our part in a good game.

Regards

Dave BELL Joint MANAGER JFC

The game between Hebburn Town and Jarrow was the first at Hebburn for 100 years in front of an sizeable crowd of 336 . As expected the game was tight with both sides not letting each other have much time on the ball . Hebburn started quickly a cross field pass by David Coulson found Glen Hargrave who crossed for Paul Chow but his shot was dealt with by David Smith near the line. On 15 minutes an good pass by Steve Graham released Grant Pressling but his shot didn’t trouble Steven Hubery in the home goal. After 32 minutes an clearance from Coulson was met by David Smith with an firm volley which was heading for the top corner but brought an good save out of Steve Hubery . The visitors were slowly getting more into the game as half time approached . Gary Shaw had an couple of shots dealt with by Jordan Mellish and Nick Little who were impressing in the Jarrow defence .The home side were not making many chances against the packed Jarrow rear guard .

The tussle between Mellish and the experienced Paul Chow was always going to be crucial and Mellish was winning the battle . Tempers flared on the hour with yellow cards for Quinn and Hargrave . In the final twenty minutes Hebburn pushed forward and several crosses were sent into the visitors area without any reward . Jarrow made three subs Kirkham for Pressling Attewell for Josh Allen and Murray for Elliott .
Sam Attewell went up front and had an chance after an good through ball sent him in on the home goal but an last ditch tackle from David Coulson denied the youngster who has had trials this week at Dundee and Bury .
In the final minute Paul Chow was through on goal but an great tackle by MOM Jordan Mellish saved the day , and ensured the visitors had taken 4 points off the home side and moved them up to 9th in the league and Hebburn down to 4th
