Sounds to me that Steve is not happy with the VOLUNTEERS that run the club. To talk of a day in day out presence at most ENL clubs is a bit of a stretch. The ENL is still, whatever anyone else thinks an AMATEUR league with most clubs run by people who love their local club love their non league football and want to help BUT most of those people have jobs, have families have other commitments that take time as well so the giving has to stop sometimes. I know a few of the lads at Ashington and I know they work damned hard for their club, want to see their club do well but these days unless you get a man like the Shields chairman coming forward all clubs in the ENL will remain on an amateur footing.

Sad it's ended the way it did. But it seems his footballing achievements were unremarkable at best.

Interesting how? Looks a shrewd move and somewhat different to their previous appointment

yeah. It’s novel idea appointing an experienced football man to a football management post. Mustn’t have been any tiddlywinks players interested in the role.

In all seriousness, a really good appointment and a massive improvement on his predecessor for sure.
