A short film on the progress of former N/L team Spennymoor Town. from N/L to National league, this film should inspire any doubters on taking promotion.

Great film ( inaccurate about the highest level any team from Spennymoor has ever played , the unibond premier that Spenny United and a few other north east teams played in fed direct into the national conference) what I want to know is why didn’t the film start from 2005 when you reformed ? Fantastic things happening at the Brewery field by the way

Ironically Spennymoor avoided promotion for several years , there was supporters on here saying that if they went up they’d end up bust ...

The fact they were able to choose when they went up and not be forced into promotion before they were ready has contributed to their success, if they’d been forced up the first time they won the NL they’d have struggled so the argument works both ways.

So you think it should be down to only going up when it suits and to accrue a war chest....That's exactly what is wrong with the old system. why exactly were Spennymoor "not ready" when they first won the league. They certainly had the finances in place.

No, just countering the people saying that spennymoor are proof that it works, well if that is to be a fair argument you have to also agree that it worked for them because they were given time to get everything in place. Let’s also remember that Shildon want to go up this year but two years ago they weren’t in any hurry when they actually won the league and neither were Marske so criticising clubs for not wanting to go up this year when they clearly see it as a threat to their long term future isn’t fair.
