If Darlo will go up, it'll be because they've gained more points than Spennymoor. They've beaten them at Brewery Field, and won all but five games in the league.

What you forget is, Spenny have chosen to take all the competitions seriously, so if they get hindered by the fixture backlog, then it's because of their own decision.

And before people jump on me, I'm not saying they shouldn't try and win every competition, in fact it's admirable they are doing so. But they can't complain if that decision leads to them not winning the league.

I just find it really tedious that some of the "Darlo will finish mid-table" crew can't admit they were wrong about Darlo.

It's not even admirable.
Doesn't every a team set out to win a football match/league/trophy? Or have I missed something?

I think because of some of the previous comments between clubs, there is always going to be negativity from some, between Spenny and Darlo, but the fact is, the two clubs are a credit to the league....
And most (if honest) will admit to a secret admiration of the other....

Not sure how Spennymoor can be called a credit to the league when they feel they are entitled to pick and choose when they can be promoted when participating in a national pyramid system.....like i have said great karma if 1883 beat them to it this season! 8)

Of course they are a credit to the league, I've noticed you have only harped on about promotion since the ground was done......I hope bishops are in the promotion spots sometime soon, and they don't take promotion.....I would have a chuckle then!!!!

All clubs can pick and choose to APPLY for promotion. Spenny haven't, as far as I know, until now. We (Bay and Bish) have in recent seasons but have fallen short. Dunston have, and fell short. Bay and Bish don't seem to have applied this season. Are we therefore not a credit to the league? ;)

It was more a reference to Darlington not being overly fussed with the League cup/ DCC - hence them resting their first teamers during those games.

Darlo's priority has clearly been the league, whereas Spenny seem to be going all out for every competition.

Like I said, you made my prediction the other day come true...

I said words to the effect of "if we win the league people will not give us credit and say we only won it because Spenny were affected by their fixture backlog"

It was obvious stuff like this was going to happen if we ended up in this situation!

Anyway, the league is still far from over. It's technically still in Spennymoor's hands, and they are very capable of winning 10 games in a row. A little bit more pressure mounting on them now after last night's result. I feel we are favourites, but I think it's going to be close.

P.S Thanks Guisborough!

bish cant afford to go up, and if its true about darlo looking to play at spenny as it would suit their needs better, IE better floodlights, bigger ground, and new stands going up, and a clubhouse,
