Going back a few years but big Kevin Wolfe took some beating.

He was the daddy of keeper's giving it to fans. Remember one night at Seaham years ago, one of the infamous gobshites from Blyth was giving him serious dog's abuse. The guy was about 20 stone and Wolfey pipes up I know you..your Gazza's Pal Jimmy 5 Bellies aren't you. What you doing here I thought you'd be in Italy with Gazza. The guy was speechless. Even the rest of Blyth lads were p*ssing themselves. He was on top form that night.

There's an after story about this incident big Wolfie used to go in his glove bag before every game he played against Blyth he would give the same guy a can of beer. The Blyth lads had a lot of respect him for him after that.

I prefer our keepers to save shots rather than craic on with all four away fans. Just my personal preference, you know.

I had the good fortune of playing with the late Steve Tierney for a number of seasons. We had a decent team at Horden and had a fair bit of success. Though i think Tierney really was the difference.

Whenever we played away, particularly in the FA Vase or Cup. Tierney took flak from supporters due to his size (12 clem he reckoned) but he would soon win them over by his tremendous keeping and non stop banter with the crowd. After games they would be in awe of him.

I always remember the Ashington supporters been constantly frustrated but entertained by him.

He could cause mayhem in the changing room. It was never dull with him in there. Constantly winding one of the lads up.

How he didn't mke itpro is beyond me.

Is Secret Squirrel banned? Whoever he/she was I am pretty sure it was not TRQ.
