This week sees Norton being made to travel to Jarrow and Shildon travel to Shields for midweek games, playing in a national competition with both sets of players and management having finished a shift at work. Surely in the interests of the integrity of this competition and in the interests of all four teams these games should have been played yesterday when everyone involved is fresh and the likelihood of players working is reduced.

You are right, would Bridlington have been expected to travel to Spenny, for instance, in the event of a draw. Just wondering whether the Vase or league games take priority.

I see what you are saying but them two are a lot further apart. The Flower pot I believe takes priority as we would of been playing you and Wilf would be buying the beers.

Shildon played Newton Aycliffe in a FA Vase replay midweek last season...did that threaten the integrity of the competition?

Don't see what the issue is personally, NL teams play each other all the time midweek...in the NL & in Vase & FAC replays (even Penrith)... :?

Yes Bridlington would have had to travel to Spennymoor in midweek had the game being a draw, two seasons ago our game with Scarborough was called off due to the weather and they sent us to Bridlington on a Tuesday night!!!!

if malvern is so concerned about travelling to northern league grounds in midweek, maybe time has come for him to talk the shildon board around to joining the crook and district?

In the Conference, we had to travel to Hayes and Yeading on a Tuesday night. That's South London as you lot don't know anywhere south of Northallerton
