well according to today's NLP they are now Darlington 1885!

Something you Darlo types not told us?

Last I heard (which was yesterday) we were called Darlington - that's according to the Dunston tannoy bloke.

What would be the correct terms to use over the tannoy if Darlington RA play Darlington 1883?

Would it be like FIFA 12 commentary?

Benfica vs Benfica for example.

why not just call them both by the name their registered to the league by , it's not exactly difficult!

I bet the tannoy announcer at Spennymoor didn't announce "Spennymoor Town FC 2 West Auckland Town FC 0" the other week.

Tbh all this manure about wether we are 1883 or not from both Darlo fans and fans on here is doing my fricking head in. I couldn't give a toss what we are called, Officially we are Darlington 1883 and from now on we always will be, get used to it, we're top of the league and that is what counts.

We won't always be called Darlington 1883, because eventually we will get to change our playing name back to Darlington.

Its not happened @ Spennymoor or any other club who have had to change their name in recent years.

I'm not aware of any club the FA have allowed to revert to their former name in recent times. Anyone correct me?

Just a guess, don't know for sure.

I don't really agree with welsh teams been able to compete in English leagues but that's a whole other debate
