I went to the recent Darlo v Aycliffe game and must admit the atmosphere was fantastic, i am sure every 1st division chairman and committee wont argue when they play Darlo the support through the gates only makes the league stronger and the cash generated is an added bonus alot of clubs must obviously be jealous.

I found the atmosphere slightly flat (tho' not as flat as it was yesterday). So far I feel the atmosphere has been better away from home than at home - I was hoping the Tin-shed would have replicated the old Feethams but it hasn't to date.

Fixtures with Darlo may generate some extra income and create some interest but don't suggest there is a jealousy from other clubs - so far other clubs, their fans and committees, have been incredibly welcoming and friendly.

We have a very hard season ahead and will have to really perform consistently well if we are to achieve promotion, we certainly aren't going out with any intention of creating a jealousy and I don't believe it exists, we are simply one club among a number pushing to go up and have a fortuitous position of a relatively strong support base.

The league table doesn't lie.
Darlington have played eight and won seven.
Very good going by any standards and get the points on the table.

Interestingly they've only played two teams currently in the top seven - Bishops and Guisborough.
The other teams they've played and beaten occupy five of the six bottom positions in the league table.
I know you have to beat what's in front of you and Darlington have played a role in taking points from these teams, but there will be some very competitive matches to come.

Its going to be a very interesting season.

Just a thought, but can someone set up a forum for Darlington 1883, there's a lot of posts regarding them, so it would make sense to give them their own forum.

It's been asked for on a number of occasions and refused each time because we have our own forum.

To be honest, no disrespect to the teams we've played so far, but really the fixture list couldn't have been kinder to us for our opening 8 matches. It's given us a good start and confidence going forward. That said, we look so dangerous going forward, which will stand us in good stead even against the best clubs.

I sort of feel the same. Don't know what it is about hot summery days. However, last 20 minutes aganst Billy the tin shed was bouncing as I was stewarding in front.

I sort of feel like The Arena has softened us all a bit. I used to 'sing' quite regularly in The Tinshed, but since the move to The Arena, people have stopped going and people have been spread about a bit.

I've not been in The Tinshed this season, I've opted to stand near the corners instead. The drum definitely adds a lot to the atmosphere though.

The atmosphere has been superb considering what we've had to put up with at the Arena.

I'm also delighted with our start to the season. If you'd offered me this at the start of the season I'd have ripped your hand off.
