I enjoy the banter on these forums between different clubs with differing opinions, but lately banter seems to have turned into hatred, jibes have changed to ridicule and un-needed defamatory name calling.

Makes me wonder how far this is going to go, are we going to need segregation, policeing, barbed wire, machine gun turrets  at northern league grounds.

Come on fellows everyone loves and is passionate about their own clubs, but sometimes things seem to be going a little bit to far

Chill and enjoy the up and coming season, imo its going to be more competitive and enjoyable than ever

I agree, the post was tongue in cheek, but to be honest I can see the gloves coming off this season

it may be tongue in cheek but it was only two seasons ago where we saw violence at Northallerton when a group (or 'MOB' ) of York City came and took the mick, the Allerton lads sent them on their way.....

now if the Quakers are placed in the NL who will pay for Policing outside the grounds and stewarding inside the grounds, they are few clubs who can spare that sort of money

my point is..... this could be the reason why Darlington are spared a season or two playing in the N/L

po;icing outside a ground is the responsibility of the taxpayer not the club

This forms part of the basis for our appeal I believe, as the Police have raised concerns.

Police inside the ground still have to be paid for.

Those few Darlo fans who caused trouble last season and the seasons before are hardly going to take the time and effort to visit smaller grounds to cause aggro.

Is policing not going to be a consideration at whatever level Darlo finish up at?

With a potential 4 figure following there will be policing required in the Northern Premier League (1st and Prem) just as much as in the Northern League.

Cops will still be needed and will be need to be paid for.

It is definately a real issue and one that needs looking at but I'm not convinced it can be relied upon to justify re starting at a higher level.

I think there'll be bother for a few reasons

All local derbies, big away following outnumbering all the other teams, potential for idiots from Sunderland, Newcastle, Boro and Carlisle to turn up when we play a team on Teesside, Tyneside etc. Harder to control the hoolies with banning orders not applying to this level, etc, hope I'm wrong.

A couple of points I'd like to make here is that firstly step 3 and 4 grounds are better equipped to cope with large followings than step 5 grounds, and secondly we'll probably not take more than 2-300 over the Pennines to all those NW locations - so it's a double whammy - lesser followings and better capability to handle them anyway...

I can remember quite some time ago taking my son to watch Durham playing Whitley Bay I think it was in the vase/fa cup, but my memorys of it are very sketchy, but the one thing that does stick in my mind, amongst a sizeable crowd was quite a few bouts of fistycuffs between supporters

With modern day clubs trying to portray themselves as more family freindly, I truely hope the rivaly between supporters stays at a respectable level and doesnt ever become physical and that banter remains good humoured (although I have my doubts)

I think supporters owe it to their club, fellow supporters (of both teams, opposing aswell) and to kids whom attend and are after all the future supporters of our clubs, to behave in an acceptable manor.

As I said before we all are passionate about our own clubs, but passion needs to be channelled and controled in the correct manor to ensure the future of the game at this standard that we all love.
