I'm not going to say too much but this was a really poor performance with arguably our best XI so far this season (admittedly most would agree that Gilly would be in that XI, as would I). The game was fairly even in the first half with Magowan having a chance after 2 minutes following good play from Do. In fact, this would prove to be probably our best chance of the game. We fell behind in injury time in the first half when the smallest player on the pitch headed home for Synners from about 3 yards out. The second half was a complete non-event from a Marske point of view with Synners dominating the game and scoring a further 2 goals. In my opinion they were a decent side who played football in the right way and had some decent players (Newby impressed me) as well as a number of players missing (Liddle, Bettson, Blyth only on the bench). However, I can't see them finishing any higher than mid-table. Unfortunately, on tonight's showing, Marske won't be anywhere near mid-table.

If I'm really honest, some of the decisions made tonight baffled me. With Yale, Keo and Tommy playing we really had no-one happy to play out wide, which Keo did but to no great effect in my opinion. Then, when Curtis was injured I couldn't understand why we brought Dekka on when Ryan was on the bench. Unfortunately, asking Dekka to play right back back-fired badly as their second goal came from their left and he conceded the penalty for the third goal.

All in all it was a game to forget and the team has to pick itself up for Saturday's home game with Celtic Nation. Looking at our next 6 games, there are some very tough games to come (Dunston, Bishops twice, West and Whitley Bay), so we need to make the most of Saturday's game and secure a much needed 3 points.

Can't disagree with any of the above ( especially the Gilly bit as he has won m.o.m. for the last two home games ) and just to rub salt in the wounds I sponsored the game but decided that no-one deserved the award last night.
As NGTW rightly says we need to improve quickly as there are some real toughies coming up.

Couldn't you have given it to your "least worst player" or were you trying to make a gesture? I could understand it if you were like but very brave?

I thought it was a very even encounter until the 44min when the goal went in from corner and in fact maybe Marske were the better side in first 20 mins to be fair and evens would of been a fair reflection at HT. It was disappointing to see young Curtis limb off, decent player for synners last season, wish him well. In fact there were a few ex synners players on show including Bimbo whom has always done well at many clubs. However the second half was all synners and it could of been alot more than 3 nil with little responce from the seasiders and it turned out more comfortable than it could of been.
