Another hard-earned three points. Tow Law started very well and could have been 3-0 up inside the first ten minutes with the best chance coming in the opening minute when a corner wasn't cleared and the resulting shot cannoned back off the crossbar.
After 15 minutes, we started to come into the game and you could sense the goal wasn't far away as we got closer and closer. The goal came on 27 minutes with Gilly stabbing home from close range after a bit of a scramble in the box following a corner.
The second half was low on chances but we made it 2-0 on 80 minutes, with Marron scoring his first goal for the Seasiders, chipping the keeper from the edge of the box after his clearance went straight to his feet.
Tow Law finally scored in stoppage time after a well-worked free kick but there wasn't enough time for them to find an equaliser some would argue they deserved.
A very satisfying result when you look back on earlier in the season when we were getting nothing from games where we'd played well but not taken our chances. We certainly weren't bad at all on Monday but Tow Law may feel they did enough to earn a point but they simply didn't take their chances.
I'm really looking forward to the Boro game on Friday. I never know what to expect from the Boro first team, let alone the youngsters, and as PP says it'll be very interesting to see how they cope with Bruno and Benn...
