With Dekka working, Burto was forced into a change on the right hand side of midfield where Gilly stepped in after being on the bench recently. It was also good to see Rawsy back on the bench after a long injury lay off. Marske started the game very slowly and were fortunate not to be one behind in the opening minute when a close range shot hit the bar. As the half progressed, Marske came into the game with a succession of decent crosses not being met by a striker. Marske took the lead from a Charlo corner where it appeared that two Marske players went for the same ball but the ball fell to Gilly who fired home from 10 yards.

The second half was fairly even and it took a mistake from the Tow Law keeper to put Marske 2-0 up. A weak clearance went straight to Tommy Marron who looked up and chipped the stranded keeper to give the home fans more evidence of his undoubted class. Tow Law pulled a goal back as the game approached injury time with a tidy finish from Thompson but the game finished 2-1 to Marske to take our form to 20 points out of the last 24.

Overall, this was by no means a vintage performance, in fact it was probably out poorest of the last 8 games but it's the points that count. On this showing Tow Law can get out of trouble as they played fairly well though looking at the Echo website I'm not sure I agree too much with their manager's comments.

Let's hope that we can get a big crowd for Friday's North Riding game vs Boro to swell the coffers a bit and hopefully keep our superb current run going.

Good report Mark but for the third game running a gale force wind spoiled the game which meant hard work and committment would win the day. Thankfully Burto has got his players showing both . It was nice to see Gilly back on the scoresheet and Marrons goal was really well taken too. Let's keep this unbeaten run going now as we try and get the ball off Boro's young stars on friday night. Mind you I'm sure that they won't have played against forwards like Benn and Bruno before so it should be an interesting game.

Another hard-earned three points. Tow Law started very well and could have been 3-0 up inside the first ten minutes with the best chance coming in the opening minute when a corner wasn't cleared and the resulting shot cannoned back off the crossbar.

After 15 minutes, we started to come into the game and you could sense the goal wasn't far away as we got closer and closer. The goal came on 27 minutes with Gilly stabbing home from close range after a bit of a scramble in the box following a corner.

The second half was low on chances but we made it 2-0 on 80 minutes, with Marron scoring his first goal for the Seasiders, chipping the keeper from the edge of the box after his clearance went straight to his feet.

Tow Law finally scored in stoppage time after a well-worked free kick but there wasn't enough time for them to find an equaliser some would argue they deserved.

A very satisfying result when you look back on earlier in the season when we were getting nothing from games where we'd played well but not taken our chances. We certainly weren't bad at all on Monday but Tow Law may feel they did enough to earn a point but they simply didn't take their chances.

I'm really looking forward to the Boro game on Friday. I never know what to expect from the Boro first team, let alone the youngsters, and as PP says it'll be very interesting to see how they cope with Bruno and Benn...
