Consett are making a special FA Cup bonus offer to supporters who sign up for a season ticket this week. The club are at home to NCEL side Tadcaster Albion on Tuesday night (7.45pm KO) in an FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round replay after the sides drew 1-1 on Saturday.
Chairman Frank Bell was so impressed with the Steelmen's travelling support, which made up about half of the crowd of 123, that he's slashed the price of season tickets for anyone who buys one before Tuesday's replay.
Adult season tickets normally cost £100, but they are available for a limited period at the special price of £85 (a saving of £30 over 23 home league games) and will include free admission to the FA Cup game.
"We want to make it affordable for local people who haven't been for years or maybe never been at all to come and watch us in what we hope will be our last season at Belle Vue before we move to our new stadium," he said.
Despite the fact the club could be on the move in 12 months' time, lots of improvement work has been done over the summer on the ground, the bar area, and dressing rooms, and new initiatives include half-time entertainment courtesy of a penalty shoot-out involving one of the 32 Consett Juniors sides who are becoming much more closely involved with the club ahead of the move.
Anyone interested in taking advantage of the special season ticket offer should contact Frank Bell on (07730) 766535.
