Well not sure where this performance came from but we seemed really up for the game and actually started really sharp, for a change, and kept it going against a decent West Allotment side who to be honest just never really got into the game even though they had spells of possession.

We scored an excellent opener with Scotty finishing off a great move, he then popped up at the back post to make it two nil and thats the way it stayed until half time. Second half we sat back a bit and to be fair West Allotment pressed without really causing us too many problems and Scotty cresswell was his usual depemdable self when they threatened the goal.

As WAC pressed we caught them on the break and it wasnt really a surprise when the 3rd goal came, although Wilkys 'Barnstorming' mazy run maybe was as he beat 5 WAC players and when he found himself facing the last man in the WAC penalty area, he squared for the fast improving Adam Cole to blast home, great to see the 'Bairn' of the side scoring again, and his sheer effort after coming on as a sub caused WAC's back four problems and he deserved his goal. The 4th one came with Wilky this time poaching a goal, and Kieran finished off the scoring with an excellent run and then shot from the edge of the box to make it a deserved 5-0.

It was interesting to see nicky the morpeth manager and half of Hebburns committee both of whom we play in the next week or so, and they'll have went away thinking we look a good side, which to be fair on the night we did, if they'd watched on saturday and last wednesday certainly both first halfs they'd have thought something completely different because just quite what were going to get seems to range from shocking to sensational, so i wont be predicting any of our results, i do know if our attitude is as good as it was last night for our 7 remaining games were a side you wouldnt want to have to beat as they both do, BUT and its a huge but,we'll wait and see cos anythings possible, good and bad.

Loads of good performances but i did think Holmer was brilliant at centre half and for someone as reluctant as he is to play these days, he put in a great performance alongside the other old man of the squad Anth.

Also want to thank Peter Osgood the ref for taking the game at very short notice after the match ref had a car crash on his way to Whickham, he was actually a replacement for Martin Bunton the original ref who had a car crash last week, so 3rd time lucky i guess. Peter didnt need to do it but helped us out and personally i think the delayed kick off giving him chance to prepare properly was a very fair call, and id like to thank the lads in the WAC dressing room for OK'ing things as they did, i didnt expect anything else as WAC are run by 3 sound fellas, but sometimes you have to just give a bit and i thought Peter had a cracking good game aswell.

Overall an excellent night, and all aboard the Whickham merry go round because ive no idea what our last 7 games will bring, but i doubt it'll be dull.

Finally i'd like to wish the boys down the hill at UTS the best of luck on saturday and i genuinely hope they make it to Wembley this season,as a club they've earned their big day out and hopefully all their hard work will pay off, Billy Urwin is not only a sound fella but he has quietly gone about doing a fantastic job (as he did as a player) for them aswell.
