Firstly a huge well done to everyone down at Thornaby for the fantastic job they've done in not just tidying up their ground but giving it a complete refurbishment and for someone who did openly criticise the state of the ground a couple of years ago, they really do deserve a huge pat on the back as its shaping up to be a very tidy little ground.
As for the game, i thought we created chances to win both in our last two games and came away with a point, today i thought Thornaby certainly created enough chances to win the game, but as we've proved so many times this season chances win you nowt and although we did create chances ourselves it was a typical poachers goal by Treadie who nipped in between the excellent no 4 and the keeper to cooly slot home what proved to be the winner. It was harsh on the no 4 who had an excellent game, and i thought him and the no 2 look very good players, indeed with the 2 the best fullback ive seen in this league this season.
Sometimes particularly away from home you have to stand up to be counted and we were with some excellent defending when required, although Thornaby had chances they were put under pressure, and a lot of them were from outside the box or from set pieces, and again sometimes you deserve a bit of good fortune and today we got it when its been in short supply previously.
Some great performances, but i thought Stephen Hutchinson looks a good signing and a genuine fella, good to see Paul Hutch walking about with his little lad, it could have been on crutches

(yes im still furious about that tackle on tuesday

.)
Thanks to all at Thornaby for the excellent hospitality and good luck getting everything else sorted with the ground.
Tuesday we entertain in form Birtley with Andy Mallinson offering everyone a 'drink as much as you like' offer, shame its at Birtley Baths
