Im delighted to announce the first of many changes that will be happening at Whickham FC in the coming months with Andrew Hill joining the club as the Clubs new Commercial Manager, andy is also a small business owner running an office stationary business, he replaces myself thus allowing me to continue as Secretary and General Manager of the club overseeing all aspects of the club, whilst giving Andy my total Support and existing Contacts.
He has already hit the Ground running with responsibility for our Twitter
@whickhamfc and Facebook Accounts (come and find us) which he set up, and he is also setting up a 'Linked in' account for the Club. We intend to launch a new club website for next season which is under construction now by Andy, and im also working on a huge data base of existing and potential local sponsors for next season as we look to build the members of our monthly 200 club draw (just £5 a month paid by standing order with the chance to win £200).
Andy has also secured a Programme Sponsor/Printer for next season who will be producing what we expect to be a Professional looking Programme, which will take a huge printing task off Mick Tucker who has manfully sorted our programme for the last few seasons. Micks somewhat delighted at that news!
The Club have also now joined forces with
JAM Marketing a leading marketing company in Newcastle, and alongside them we intend to nominate
'Variety' The Childrens Charity as our preffered Charity for 2012 helping JAM with their own Build a Bus Campaign. They will have a presence at our Annual Dinner which is on May 18th with former Man City Footballer Steve Daley as our Guest Speaker, ive had him reffered to me a dozen times and i believe hes a terrific speaker(Full details to follow).
We can also announce Kevin Ball is bringing his Sunderland Youth side to Whickham for a friendly on Tuesday 6th March so were hoping for a good turnout to watch what we believe are some of Sunderlands very good prospects.
We're also hoping to have a Maintenance contract in place for our Pitch next season aswell, which once again will take a huge burden off the ever willing Stewart Gasgoigne and our multi tasking chairman Brian Mccartney next season, there both nearly 100 so they need the rest.
Loads more in the Pipeline and a lot of the above we'll be mentioning individually in due course on here, facebook and Twitter, so watch out for them, but if were to move forward as a club we feel we must treat the club as a business and work smarter not harder with the small band of volunteers we have, and hopefully it will put the club on a secure footing as we move forward.
Finally anyone thinking of getting involved in or simply just helping a club at this level then give me a shout, theres always a place at WFC for a willing person.
Have a Nice Day!
