One of those special nights under the floodlights at the Glebe, like the gaffer said in the non league interview if the lads give 100% and win it would be brilliant,so brilliant it was.a typical Whickham night saw the sun turn to rain and the temperature fall, but come 7.30 the boys in black and white raised the temperature as they set about the visitors, pinned in there own half it was a matter of time before the first goal arrived a beautiful ball into the box saw the diminutive Chad Collins flash a superb header into the net,the Glebe erupted as to a man they celebrated, then came aycliffes best spell In the game without really creating anything to worry the defence,1-0 at ht the second half Saw Kyle Wharton dance down the line and whip a glorious ball in which saw Broadhead stoop to put the Glebe 2 up,aycliffe threatened to spoil the night when a Whickham defender turned the ball into his own net, but in keeping with the night something brilliant was needed and it duelly arrived,Wharton latched onto a ball 30yds out took a couple of strides and thundered the ball into the visitors net,the roar could be heard down the front street. What a goal to round off a great night.if you enjoyed it then why not come on Tuesday night when we entertain Darlington Fc in the Durham. County cup.thanks to everyone for there support tonight it is greatly appreciated.

Is the result correct at 3-1? I am sure that it is, but, according to the FA web site http://www.thefa.com/competitions/fa-vase/results, it was (as copied):

Kick Off No. Home Away
19:30 5 Whickham FC 8 - 19 Newton Aycliffe FC
AET (3 - 1 at the end of normal time)
RESULT
FT (3 - 1) AET (8 - 19)
OTHER INFORMATION
Attendance 225
Ground Whickham FC

There was an 8-5 AET last night i think. I believe it had been 4-4 at full time somewhere down south.
