DARLINGTON RA V JARROW

With two wins in the last two games against Easington 3-2 and Hebburn town 1-0 , Jarrow travelled to Darlington RA who were seeking their first win of the season.
Some changes were made from Wednesday with Peter Kane and Nick Quinn injured , up stepped Max Kirkham and Josh Allen into the starting line up, with Alex Bone included in midfield for Murray.
The game started at an frantic pace with an strong wind favouring the visitors , and after just three minutes an cross from Hirst caused problems in the home defence and David Fittis had an shot blocked in a bright start. With six minutes gone the home side had an cross cleared but on seven minutes an good one two near the half way line between Josh Allen and Jonny Hirst released the winger and he ran from the half way line and dribbled round the keeper David Atkinson to open the score 1-0 to Jarrow.
Hirst was trying long range shots which were dealt with by the keeper then after 22 minutes an trip on Dean Martin in the area lead to the referee Matthew Webster giving an penalty. Josh Allen drove the ball to David Atkinson right ,he got an hand to the kick but couldn’t prevent the goal 2-0
After 28 minutes skipper Jordan Mellish had an header saved then seconds later an good cross from the right from Hirst was headed firmly home by Mellish 3-0
The home side then came into the game and had a lot of possession and reduced the deficit when Mark Sims squared the ball in the visitors area and Domonic Joynes steered the ball home 3-1 . The visitor s withstood the pressure to half time .

HT DARLINGTON RA 1 JARROW 3

After 52 minutes another cross from Jonny Hirst lead to Max Kirkham heading home from close range 4-1 . and minutes later Atkinson saved an free kick from Hirst.
On the hour Josh Allen was replaced by Nick Little and after 77 mins an good run by the dangerous Mark Sims lead to an goal for Darlington RA 4-2 shooting past Frater inside the box . The home side were having their best spell , and Jarrow brought on sub Grant Pressling after 80 mins for Fittis
In time added on John Murray replaced Jonny Hirst and Grant Pressling had an great chance for another goal blasting over after an good ball by Murray

A hard fought win against Darlington RA who never gave up till the final whistle .
