I've seen two games whilst in North Devon. Ilfracombe 1st v Ilfracombe Reserves on Tuesday night which ended 2-0 to the reserves. On Friday evening I went to Bideford v Torquay, which was won by the visitors 5-0. Very one sided but was good to see a game which involved someone at the same step as ourselves.

On Wednesday (8th August) Blyth Spartans play Shildon (Northern League) in an extra to the published friendlies.

The match is at Croft Park, Blyth with a kick off at 7:30 and ...., wait for it, ....entry is free.

You can see how Macclesfield Town beat us (Buxton) 0-6 at the link below. I don't like high scoring games as it takes longer to edit the recording with the slowmo goal replays. They looked far better than Notts County's first team squad we drew 1-1 with. Two of the goals were scored by an "Un-named trialist", even their web site and the official teams sheet didn't have him on. No 19 I think.

BFC TV Buxton 0 Macc 6

Marine 2 - 3 Wigan Athletic X1, didnt see the game but according to the fans forum (only 1 post) Marine gave quite a good account of themselves.

missed a 0-0 with Mossley whilst sat on an Anglesey beach in the sunshine. Fair swop.

Penalty shoot-out apparently featured 7 missed/saved pens in a row, Mossley winning 3-2 in the end

Curzon 1 Ashton 4, very satisfying result - not just because it was a derby, rather that we dominated what is traditionally one of the strongest sides outside the Premier Division.

We lost 3-1 at home to Shildon tonight in our final pre-season friendly.

I honestly think we're so far off where we need to be we're going to struggle badly next season. Our preparation has been abysmal.

Lost 2-3 to Blackburn Rovers last night. They had David Dunn, Bradley Orr, Morten Gamst Pedersen and David Goodwillie in their starting line up. We took the lead then scored the last goal. Can't wait for the season now, one more pre-season game left at Droylsden on Saturday.

Not just the result, but entertainment value of the game was second-to-none. It looked like an FA Cup 3rd round game it was that gripping. Thrilling stuff.
