A very disjointed team produced a very disjointed performance. Our pre-season preparation has been less than ideal as we had to scrounge around for some players from a local youth side to be able to play this one. The score line could have been worse for us.

Only bright side was the performance of new centre forward Craig Farrell and a tall midfielder centre half who looked handy.

Oh dear, Maybe Blyth candidates for relegation???

Chorley drew 1-1 against two strong Preston sides (one in each half). The team is looking defensively sound.

If I had this sort of view and knowledge of any other team's preparations going like this, I'd bet money on them getting relegated.

Yeah, one of the few positives from tonight. Should never have let him go in the first place.

Think it's best if we condense all pre-season game info and reports into this one thread...

Stocksbridge lost 4-0 to a first eleven from Sheffield Wednesday last in front of a 2k-2.5k crowd. The teams fitness levels are crazy. Never seen a Stocksbridge team look so fit.

I never knew Wednesday had so many fans....Good money earner for you then.

Our one and only home pre-season game is against the Mighty Stourport Swifts, They are not even big in Stourport... a real money spinner eh :(

We beat Kidsgrove away last saturday 2-0 and last night we humbled Blue Square Bet Premier team Tamworth 2-1 at Dales Lane, 1st half was theirs and the 2nd period we dominated and played the game like it was a cup tie. Can't help but feel all warm and fuzzy inside at the moment.

Really positive performance from the lads :P

Then again, friendlies mean absolutely nothing. The season starts on the 18th August..

Lost 2-0 to Darlington 1883 on Saturday with a different team in each half, told we'll be at full strength against a young Sunderland XI tonight 7pm kick-off.

Coverage on www.sparksunderland.com
