so you are a small club you reach the later stages of the competition pull a plumb tie out of the bag against a big team only problem you are at home a small ground and you are not allowed to switch grounds or find a neutral ground to make a bit of money unless its on health and safety police advice etc

However a club in the same situation but this time with a plastic pitch will not be able to play at home forced to either switch grounds or find a neutral ground to play the game making more money then a team with a grass pitch

And that's without having the advantage of playing on a plastic pitch with teams on or around the same level

Yet strangely enough when you get up amongst the big boys you are not allowed this advantage

something tells me this has not had a lot of thought behind it

Agree, it's all about the League teams being scared of an upset. Surely the more talented the footballer, the easier it'll be to play on. While the bounce can be exaggerated, it's usually an even bounce and no mud, puddles etc.

Agreed, a decent 4g astroturf pitch is miles better than some of the marsh pitches at our level during the winter.
