I've just made a list of the games where I'll be abusing the ex-Frickley players that left during the summer to join other teams - god, it's a long list....

Interesting (or not) but everyone's 6th game is the reverse fixture of the 2nd game.

I don't like our run-in, starting with a trip to Matlock where we very rarely win.

Sat Mar 30 Matlock Town A
Mon Apr 1 Ilkeston FC H
Sat Apr 6 Blyth Spartans A
Sat Apr 13 Chorley H
Sat Apr 20 FC United of Manchester A
Sat Apr 27 AFC Fylde H

We have FC Utd at home the Saturday before Christmas. What a financial disaster, they will all be down the Trafford Centre spending their money on crap presents and not at Causeway Lane. (I think a tactical postponement is required  ) What was that load of B******s Goose was spouting this time last year about having officials on the league management committee.

Edited due to poor memory.

Go on New years Eve, bring in the new year up there, lie in until lunch time and then straight to the match.......sorted.

Was me talking about the league committee, first time in a long time you haven't had a plum fixture with FCUM.

More concerned with us hosting Buxton on December 22nd and the Peak District papparazi snapping our water table being below knee level.

That must be a record midweek distance for the NPL...175 miles...can anyone top it? I thought our 140 mile trip to Whitby on a Tuesday would be the winner...although it's a 520 mile round trip for me. Still...much better than playing Shepshed!

I remember going to Whitley Bay on a Wednesday. 160 each way from Matlock. Lost 3 1 I think. Not good :?

In recent years we've had Hastings away midweek, about 175 miles, only for the game to be postponed half an hour before kick off. Needless to say the rearranged game was midweek also. Sittingbourne was also a long one...and going further back I remember an NPL Cup tie at home to Rhyl on a Tuesday night and the replay on the following Thursday...Fleetwood away was midweek and I also remember Morecambe away on a Thursday night. And to think in the Evo Stik South any journey over 30 miles is considered an epic overland trek that coulf bankrupt the club!
