OK, I know this is nothing to do with the football, but I hope some of you will take a couple of minutes to help a friend of mine.

As some of you may know I have been heavily involved in badminton and a talented badminton player and a friend of mine, Bobby Griffin, suffered a near fatal accident a couple of years ago on his way home from work. His injuries included a broken back, broken ribs, loss of a leg. Bobby has shown tremendous courage fighting back from his injuries and now competes in parabadminton, being ranked number 5 in the world and has medalled at European and World Championships.

Bobby is now down to the final 7 in the "Magnificent Media 7" whereby the winner wins £5000 to donate to charity or a local sports club. At the moment badminton is not in the Paralympic Games, but will be in 2020. If Bobby wins the competition he is going to use the £5000 to set up a talent id programme aimed at 10-14 year olds to help identify and fast track young disabled badminton players in the hope they will be able to compete at the 2020 Paralympic Games.
