If the new owners are intending groundsharing with Shildon, Bishop Auckland or West Auckland, surely they are not going to be allowed to stay in the Conference set-up? To save the usual amount of p***ing about we get after the Conference AGM where they seem to 'suddenly' throw clubs out and the FA end up moving some from one league to another at a late date (happened to both Bedworth and Rugby last year), why don't Darlo come right out now and say they are resigning from the Conference and let's get the leagues settled at the first time of asking for a change. If the new ownership means they are a continuing club rather than a new one, I personally have no issues where they are put. I know it always causes clubs problems to be put in one league, then moved two weeks later.

Yes, there is a vested interest here!

I do not use this site much though I have been a member for quite a while.

The doubt re' which league the club will play in is because we have gone the route of coming out of admin without paying the creditors because of the actions of the former chairman, and the FA in there "wisdom" are going to be sure to hit the club hard.

I would add the new company wanted to settle the debts to other people, but the former owner has made this impossible because of the law of the land. Most people are hoping the club will in fact sort out some way to honor the other debts, but I would hope you would realize this man was saying there was no debt until the point he placed the club in admin when there was no reason to, and has constantly misled people re the "debts" of the club, now saying the club owe him 800,000 after having all along saif the club had NO debts.... Rather hard to take.

Previous chairman George Houghton took out a loan secured on it then defaulted on the payments, the Stadium's ownership then passed to the major creditors who lent him the money in the first place.

And what's happening now with it?

Hope Darlo end up in NPL and get a decent local rivalry going with Whitby.

No idea what's happening to it now, covenants say it can only be used for football or sporting purposes (can't remember exactly)

I dare say it'll just get weighed in

A rivalry with Whitby would be good, you've got a few of our old players, Jeff Smith, Liversedge, Mulligan, I hear Tom Portas is a decent player too, I know his dad

Tom Portas has been great this season. A big threat infront of the net, and has scored some terrific goals aswell.

Destined for bigger and better leagues maybe, good luck to the lad

It will be interesting to see who we can lure to play for us, we'll surely be able to compete with the top spenders at this level, conservative estimate is we'll have 1000 fans behind us to support this financially

Beat me to it, Tom Portas who's under contract thank god!

Never understood the covenant on your stadium, no doubt down to NIMBYs and an unhelpful council.
