Top lads them RL boys, never forget the first proper rugby tackle I saw close up and the immense respect I've had for rugby players ever since after a trip to Watersheddings in Oldham.

Dixie Dean lost a testicle after a horrific tackle when still at Tranmere, he did alright afterwards though!

What's not to love about the Sheddings - higher than Mossley's Seel Park (one of the highest football grounds in the country) these lads were expected to catch a ball with no gloves on...

Stafford's number 9 on tuesday Dean Oliver was taken into hospital for an operation, given the rumours around the ground his "groin" area was split open. SR official site has a post saying he was operated on and has left hospital. I hope things are ok for him. If its the incident I remember he was injured after about 35 mins and stayed on til half time.
