Lost 3-2 to Heath Hayes of the Midland Alliance Step 5 league.

Slip shod performance which at least has kept the feet firmly on the ground, no Walker, Clarke, Abbott and Landell made a difference and only good performances from midfielder Lei Brown and Ahmed Obeng up front put a smile on the face.

The performance of the ref left a lot to be desired also!

Much to ponder for Kitch as a few trialists and lads looking for deals did not do much to impress.

But, as per yesterdays alternative pre-season match thread, ""It was a very good work out"
and "pre-season is all about improving your fitness levels" etc etc

OK Yabber, how full strength was that Macc side? Or did the Bucks take a pasting off Macc Reserves?

Whitby drew 1-1 against a strong Hartlepool squad.

Blackpool FC 1-2 Chorley

Yep, it was a development side that Blackpool put out, but there was a certain Gerado Bruna who has played for the first team in the past. Can't really see anything on the alternative preseason thread so will say - We beat a Championship side, in their own back yard!

Blackpool took the lead through a first half penalty. Second half, both sides made a few changes in personnel, and then BFC got another penalty which looked less of the one previously given. Our substitute GK saved it well down to his left and a header from the rebound went wide. Chorley equalised from a striker who had previously played about an hour in total all last season, Ahmadi Proya, slotted in from the edge of the 6 yard box. The same Ahmadi Proya then coolly headed in from a delightful 25 yard pinpoint cross from Williams in front of around 1,500 spectators.

Foxy, was it the FA Trophy game we turned up late for due to that damn M56?

Hmm, either Nantwich are going to p*ss this tinpot league or Buxton are dropping faster than Jim Rushe's credibility, or both?

Hartlepool report here, does sound like their first team. http://www.hartlepoolunited.co.uk/news/ ... ageValue=1

Very enjoyable game at Blackpool, both sides played some good football, but it was only a pre-season friendly, roll on Aug 17

They told us it was a strong team they put out and judging by the reaction of the manager and their chairman at half time (they were 4-0 down to a team of part timers), they were none too pleased to say the least.

Having said that I don't know what a full strength Macc team would look like, and we pretty much had out starting 11 for the first half.

All I know is that in the first half we played some beautiful stuff and were clinical in front of goal.

If we can keep this team together, without the likes of Casper Hughes, Kyle Wilson, Lewis Short, Matt Bailey and Jonny Brain being poached by bigger clubs, we could be the surprise package this season.

Anyway, off to oil my bike chain now as a couple of us are cycling to Alsager today for the PSF - watch us get beat today

It was the youth team playing that one.

We play Tamworth today, and that will be the real test of where we are so far.
