Still up to the referee to decide though after viewing VAR. Poor decisions by him.

Exactly. VAR works perfectly well as long as the ref does.
And talking of refs, looks like this is the World Cup where diving has been legalised. Has there even been a free kick (let alone a booking) for a dive yet? When serial diver Victor Moses did four bookable ones in his first game without so much as a warning, you feared the worst.
So the refs are just colluding with the cheating players.
And presumably this must be on FIFA orders, as it's impossible to believe it's a coincidence that all refs have adopted this stance at the same time.
RIP international football. Wounded by the cheating players before finally being murdered by refs and the authorities, its so-called protectors. And aided and abetted by the media and pundits, who won't shine a light on these atrocities.
Roll on the new Northern League season, and the return of the tackle (we hope).

I'd scrap VAR, and put it back in the rubbish bin it came out of.
