My 40th game of the season will be a trip to ground no 32 and The Millbank Linnets Stadium.

No prior Linnets games

AFC Blackpool beaten 4-0 at home by West Didsbury & Chorlton. Even worse, 2 players carted off to hospital.

Only 12 home wins in the 39 matches so far, I think there is every chance that this will be number 13.

Also have to hope that Blackpool change their kit or my eyes will hurt by half-time :x

Runcorn Linnets 4 AFC Blackpool 0
Att: 260

Straight from the kick off the visitors earned a corner. That was the end of their real threat in this match. The Linnets hammered them. They scored 4, including 2 great second half strikes from distance by Michael Simpson, missed a penalty - well it was saved, the keeper pulled off a few more good saves and poor finishing limited the score to 4. It should have been 10. Easily.

Blackpool posed little threat even though their wingers were pacy.

I have seen Blackpool twice in a few weeks and things don't look too good. Creating little, they have looked vulnerable at best at the back. Only had 2 subs, 1 a keeper in both games.

Hard enough to judge a team off one game, even harder when it is a walk in the park like this, but Linnets look a decent team, like to pass the ball, lively if a little wasteful up front. I would be interested seeing them against a decent team. Maybe next time
