Some of you may be aware of the new team developments taking place under Northallerton Juniors FC and Northallerton Town FC. If not:

The new 'Northallerton Town Academy' competing in Teesside league division 2 and consisting of all local players have begun the season in fantastic fashion.

Their 100% record at the expense of Redcar Newmarket and Guisborough Town is a testament to the attitude, preparation and commitment of the management and players.

Its early in the season I know, but young local players are something to be proud of and i though it was worth a post!

Well done lads.

The future looks bright!

Jamie

A great start to the season. The effort and commitment of the pre-season training has paid dividends (I watched the lads doing shuttles up and down Sandybank after running around the town from the Northallerton town ground and back again, as well as doing some football drills). Well done to the management team, coaching staff, and the lads for putting the effort in. And also to you and Cookie for having the desire to get things rolling and the team off the ground.

I am on the understanding that there was a good crowd of around 60 on Saturday! This is what the local community needs.

Have to say as an outsider its great not only to have updates from the youth setup but also that the members of the senior club are very proud and are taking an interest.
Quite a few clubs have youth sides under their banner but dont really give to jots

Marron04 , Nice to see somebody giving a bit of credit to NTFC for our part in establishing the Academy Team .
We feel this is a major step forward in preparing "Local Players" for a future in Northern League Football .

Watto it's all two easy for clubs to take credit for a good youth side when they are winning etc, but from the moment this academy was formed the posters on your forum have taken an interest

It's good to finally see another senior team in Northallerton. There have been, and still are, some excellent Sunday sides in and around Northallerton. These sides are full of players who could play a high standard and just never really had the chance to. Some of them didn't even bother with Saturday football until now. Good luck to Kell and the boys with it all, except if we draw them in the County Cup.

Thanks for all the positive comments on this thread.

Football in Northallerton now has a development path from 5 - 8 years old, teesside junior alliance teams from under 9 to 16. After that, dependent on ability:
NJFC Acdemy (Sunday League)
Northallerton Town Academy (Teesside League)
Northallerton Town FC (Northern League)

The most crucial part of the above is the communication and guidance between the separate entities, but with foundations laid and commitment to progress players I'm forecasting an exciting few years for football in Northallerton and everyone involved.

Thanks Jamie

totally agree mate, many clubs have youth teams under their banner but after the 1st team interest in reserves or youth teams disappears.
